WESTWOOD
CARDIOLOGY ASSOCIATES
PAYMENT POLICY
Westwood Cardiology accepts all patients regardless of insurance status.
If we do not participate in your insurance plan, it does not mean that
you have to go elsewhere for cardiac care. Please call our billing department
in advance of scheduling an appointment to discuss your unique situation,
(201) 664-0201 x236. Our expert administrative and billing staff is
trained to assist and support patients who fall into the following broad
insurance categories:
MEDICARE
Westwood Cardiology is a long-time participant in the Medicare program.
We submit all Medicare claims, apply payment to your account and coordinate
benefits with any secondary insurance, if applicable.
COMMERCIAL HEALTH INSURANCE
Westwood Cardiology participates in many commercial health insurance
plans. For an updated list of participating insurance companies, click
here. When we participate with an insurance company it means we accept
a co-pay, any co-insurance and the company's fee schedule as payment
in full for services rendered. We submit the insurance claim for you,
monitor the claim as it is processed and apply payments to your account
as they are received.
HEALTH
INSURANCE WITH "OUT-OF-NETWORK" BENEFITS
For insurance plans with which we do not participate, it is common that
out-of-network benefits apply. Please check with your carrier to determine
whether you are eligible for out-of-network benefits. If you are eligible,
Westwood Cardiology will request payment in full for services at the
time of the visit, usually for an office visit or consultation and routine
diagnostic testing, i.e., electrocardiogram (EKG) or chest x-ray. We
will submit the insurance claim for you and you will receive payment
directly from your plan. Other, more sophisticated diagnostic tests
are billed to you and a convenient payment plan will be arranged.
